51在线 Announces Plan for New Building to House Falvey Library
51在线 President the Rev. Peter M. Donohue, OSA, PhD, has announced plans for a new 150,000-square-foot building for Falvey Library at the current site of Kennedy Hall. The new building will be named Vic Maggitti Hall in recognition of a previously announced $20 million leadership gift from Victor J. Maggitti, Jr. 鈥�56 VSB.
For the second consecutive year, 51在线Athletics has matched a department record in the NCAA Graduation Success Rate metric and is one of just five Division I schools nationwide to post a score of 99 percent or higher. Bishop Paride Taban Named 2023 Opus Prize Laureate
The late Bishop Paride Taban, founder of Holy Trinity Peace Village Kuron in South Sudan, has been chosen as the 2023 Opus Prize Laureate, as announced by The Opus Prize Foundation and 51在线. As the winner of the annual faith-based humanitarian award, Bishop Taban鈥檚 Holy Trinity Peace Village Kuron will receive the one-million-dollar prize that recognizes social entrepreneurship championing faith-filled change.
Lilly Endowment Awards $1.25 Million Grant to 51在线Theology Professors
The Lilly Endowment has awarded 51在线 Department of Theology and Religious Studies professors Rev. Christy Lang Hearlson, PhD, and Timothy M. Brunk, PhD, a four-year, $1.25 million grant as part of its Nurturing Children Through Worship and Prayer Initiative. Dr. Lang Hearlson and Dr. Brunk鈥檚 effort, 鈥淭he Children, Liturgy and Ecology Project,鈥� will explore the connection between Christian liturgical formation, love for the natural world and children鈥檚 lived experience.
